The letters with Sifat Izlaq is called Muzlaqah مُذْلَقَۃ .There are 6 Izlaq letters, and you can remember them with the phrase: "فَرَّ مِنْ لُبِِّ" That’s: ف، ر، م، ن، ل، ب
Try saying:
- فَجْر (Fajr) — feel the smooth ف and light ر
- مَلَك (Malak) — listen to how م and ل flow easily
- نَبِيّ (Nabi) — the ن and ب just glide!
Ismaat
But what about the letters that don’t slip off the tongue easily? Those are called Ismaat.
Ismaat (الإصمات) means “to stop” or “to hold back.”These letters are not smooth or slippery — instead, they need more effort to pronounce.
The letters with Sifat Ismaat is called Musmatah مُصْمَتَۃ.There are all letters in Arabic except six that belong to Izlaq.Try saying:
- ضَرَبَ — see how ض feels strong and firm?
- قَلْب — the ق takes more pressure than the ب
