Frequently Asked Questions
Sessions are kept to 30 minutes to match a child's attention span, with short breaks built in when needed.
A learning path for every age
Children learn differently at 5 than at 12, so every lesson is shaped around your child's age, attention span and starting level. Here is how the journey usually looks.
Ages 4 to 6: first letters
Young children start with Noorani Qaida: recognising the Arabic letters, hearing their sounds and repeating them after the teacher. Lessons are playful and short, with plenty of praise, so the Quran becomes something your child looks forward to.
Ages 7 to 10: reading with confidence
Once the letters are secure, children learn to join them, read words with vowels and move on to reading directly from the Quran. Alongside reading, they memorise short surahs and everyday duas they can use at home.
Ages 11 to 14: fluency and Tajweed
Older children build fluent, steady recitation and start applying the core Tajweed rules. Students who are ready can begin memorising longer surahs, or take their first steps into a structured Hifz program.
What your child will learn
Our kids' curriculum follows the same proven path used in madrasahs around the world, taught one-on-one so your child never gets left behind or held back.
Noorani Qaida
The Arabic alphabet, letter sounds, joined letters, vowels (harakat), tanween, sukoon and shaddah, step by step, until your child can read any Arabic word.
About our Qaida course →Quran reading
Reading from the Quran itself, starting with the short surahs of Juz Amma, with the teacher correcting every word as your child reads.
Tajweed basics
Correct pronunciation of each letter from its proper makhraj, plus the first Tajweed rules, introduced gently as your child's reading grows.
What is Tajweed? →Short surahs and daily duas
Surah Al-Fatiha and the short surahs needed for prayer, along with duas for eating, sleeping, travelling and entering the home, learned with their meanings.
Safe, parent-friendly online classes
Always one-on-one
Your child learns with their own teacher only. There are no group calls, no chat with other students and no strangers in the class.
Parents are welcome to join
You can sit in on any lesson, especially in the first few weeks, so you can see exactly how your child is taught and how they respond.
Regular progress updates
Your child's teacher keeps you updated on what they have covered, where they are improving and what to practise at home between classes.
A teacher who suits your child
If your child would feel more comfortable with a female teacher, just ask when you book the free trial. If the fit isn't right, we will find a better match.
Online or in-person Quran classes for kids?
Many families wonder whether online classes can really replace the local madrasah. Here is an honest comparison.
Personal attention
In a group class, a teacher may hear each child recite for only a few minutes. Online one-on-one, your child reads for the whole lesson and every mistake is corrected straight away.
No commute, flexible times
Lessons happen at home, at a time that fits around school, homework and activities, so there is no driving across town in the evening.
You can see the progress
Because lessons happen at home, you can listen in, hear your child improve week by week and help them practise.
The best of both
The masjid gives children community and friendships that are valuable too. Many of our families keep weekend madrasah or masjid activities and use online classes for focused reading and Tajweed.
How to help your child learn at home
Keep a routine
Schedule lessons at the same time each week and set a regular 10-minute practice slot on the days between classes.
Create a quiet space
A quiet corner with a tablet or laptop, a headset and the Qaida or Quran ready helps your child focus from the first minute.
Praise effort, not speed
Children progress at different rates. Celebrating steady effort keeps them motivated far more than comparing them with others.
Listen together
Play a calm recitation of the surahs your child is learning in the car or at bedtime. Hearing correct recitation often makes it much easier to copy.
