Jahr(Voiced)
Jahr is a characteristic where the breath does not continue to flow when pronouncing certain letters. There are 19 letters which are the remaining after the hams letters. Lets take some example : اَغْ اَقْ
Remember how you felt the air on your hand with Hams? Try again now… say: ‘اَغْ ’ — do you feel anything?That’s because you’ve entered the world of Jahr (جَهر) — the opposite of Hams!In Jahr, your breath stops while pronouncing certain letters.
Say these with your hand in front of your mouth:
✅ اف (you feel air — that’s Hams)
❌ اغ or اق — nothing comes out. That’s Jahr — no air, just voice and pressure.”
Here’s something wild:
You can stretch Hams letters like اففففBut you can’t stretch Jahr letters like اغغغغ — try it! It gets stuck!"
